This tour starts in Dar es Salaam after boarding an SGR Train at 06hr00 after a transfer from the hotel. You’ll drive for 2 hours max, and you’ll be in Morogoro Town at around 08hr00! You’ll meet our driver who will drive you to the park for 1.5 hours. On arrival, you’ll check in and start the game drive till evening, then transfer to Hondo Hondo Camp for dinner and overnight stay, the next day, you will have a day hike trip to Udzungwa, then return to the railway station to board a night train.

Routine

Safari Itinerary

Day 1

SGR Train – Morogoro – Mikumi National Park

We’ll arrange a pick up from the hotel in Dar es Salaam or the airport and drive to the Train Station for a safari to Morogoro Town starting at 06hr00, and you’ll arrive at 08hr00 in Morogoro Town with a drop off at the SGR station.

On arrival, you’ll be met by our driver and start your drive from Morogoro Towns CGR(Standard Gauge Railway) Station to Mikumi National Park, where you’ll arrive at 09hr30. And after check-in, you’ll proceed with the game drive across the park with a high chance of animal viewing during a pleasing guided game drive.

You’ll proceed with the game drive till lunch, stopping at 13hr00. after having your stop for lunch, you’ll then proceed with the game drive to 16hrs, then drive to Hondo Hondo tented camp for dinner and overnight stay. 

Day 2

Udzungwa hike then Drive to Morogoro for your SGR Train

After breakfast from the lodge, take 2 hour’s drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, upon arrival, you will be taken with a professional ranger/guide and take a few hours(4 to 5 hours) hike to Sanje waterfalls, take a bath if you will like, learn more about monkeys and birds. After a wonderful hike at 16:00hrs, you will Return to Your accommodation pick up your properties, and go to Mikumi Railway station to board a train back to Dar es Salaam at 19:30hrs, which your train will take 1 hour and 40 mins.
