Safari Overview

In southern Tanzania, on the northwest side of Nyerere National Park lies two small quite offbeat national parks: Mikumi National Park and Udzungwa Mountain National Park. Mikumi NP is easily accessible by road and it supports a large number of elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, wildebeest, eland, impala, waterbuck, and other species, at the same time you’ll visit the Udzungwa Mountain National Park. This safari starts at 7:00 AM from Dar es Salaam.

Safari Itinerary

Day 1

Dar es salaam – Mikumi National Park

Depart at 7:30 AM after breakfast from Dar es salaam via Morogoro and Chalinze with picnic lunch packs to Mikumi National Park. After arriving you’ll have your Lunch and rest for some time then our guide will take you to Maasai Cultural tribe where you’ll see a scenic beauty of tribe’s lifestyle, customs, traditions, arts and more of heritages gifted to this tribe. Dinner and overnight will be at the area of your Safari destination.

Day 2

Full game drive across Mikumi National park

Have morning breakfast, then proceed with a full-day game drive viewing the prosperity of Mikumi National Park, you will see all species of animals and birds. Due to its Savannah plain, animals at Mikumi NP are easily accessed after a drive you’ll have your lunch in the mid-noon before advancing with a game drive for the rest of the hours. Drive to Bastian camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Udzungwa and Sanje water fall then back to Dar es salaam

After breakfast start your safari to Udzungwa 60km from Mikumi NP then trekking that leads to the spectacular trails up to Sanje water falls, one of the unique features of Udzungwa. Here you will get a good view of Kilombero valley which is ideal for agriculture.
Walk back to Udzungwa town for a hot lunch and start driving to the Dar es Salaam hotel or lodge to end the trip for extra plans.
