This tour starts in Dar es Salaam after boarding an SGR (Standard Gauge Railway) Train at 06hr00 after a transfer from the hotel. You’ll drive for 2 hours maximum, and you’ll be in Morogoro Town at around 08hr00! You’ll meet our driver who will drive you to the park for 1.5 hours. On arrival, you’ll check in and start the game drive till evening with a Maasai tour and the next day as well.

Routine

Safari Itinerary

Day 1

SGR Train – Morogoro – Mikumi National Park (Game and Maasai)

We’ll arrange a pick up for you from the hotel in Dar es Salaam or the airport and drive to the Train Station for a safari to Morogoro Town starting at 06hr00, and you’ll arrive at 08hr00 in Morogoro Town with a drop off at SGR station.

On arrival, you’ll be met by our driver and start your drive from Morogoro TownSGR (Standard Gauge Railway) Station to Mikumi National Park, where you’ll arrive at 09hr30. After check-in, you’ll proceed with the game drive across the park with a high chance of animal viewing during a pleasing guided game drive. You’ll proceed with the game drive till lunch, stopping at 13hr00, and after having your stop for lunch, you’ll then proceed with the game drive to 16hr00. 

The rest of the day will be spent on the Maasai Cultural Tour! Our guide will guide you to the local Maasai village in Mikumi; you’ll enjoy the local life of African people and learn new things about the Maasai. Later in the evening, around 18hr30, you’ll be driving back to the Camp. 

Day 2

Game Drive then Drive to Morogoro for your SGR Train

Have morning breakfast at 06hr30, then proceed with a day game drive viewing the prosperity of Mikumi National Park, you will see all species of animals and birds. Due to its Savannah plain, animals at Mikumi National Park are easily accessed after a drive you’ll have your lunch in the mid-noon before advancing with a game drive for the rest of the hours. 

After a good game, you’ll start the drive back to Morogoro Town at 16hr00 for 1.5 hours, after arriving in Morogoro you’ll wait for check in procedures at the train station and at 19hr00 you’ll start your safari back to Dar es Salaam and arrive at 21hr30 with a drop off at the hotel or airport.
